New Hotel, Restaurant, and Apartments coming to downtown Bremerton

Sound West Group (SWG) would like to announce an exciting new project commencing in downtown Bremerton next year. SWG, a development company based in Bremerton, is currently under contract with the Port of Bremerton to purchase the parking lot property on Washington Avenue adjacent to the Harborside Condominiums and the Bremerton Marina. SWG has plans for a new hotel, restaurant, and apartments in two, 6-story towers above 3-levels of subterranean parking.

SWG is committed to creating community engagement throughout their developments. The community will benefit from multiple open spaces and view corridors for the public to engage the waterfront experience by connecting downtown to its shoreline. In addition to a significant increase in parking, the Port of Bremerton’s goal of maintaining parking for marina tenants will be fulfilled through this development.

One of the towers will house approximately 120 hotel rooms with amenities, in addition to a waterfront restaurant and bar, yet to be determined. SWG has partnered with Cambria Hotels, a member of the Choice Hotels upscale brand offering. The hotel will be managed by Columbia Hospitality, who currently manages the Kitsap Conference Center in downtown Bremerton along with Gold Mountain and McCormick Woods Golf Clubs. Cambria has been aggressively expanding across the country and currently has a hotel under development in Belltown, close to the Pike Place Market.

The second tower will be a 6-story apartment community with 120 units over structured parking, featuring ample amenities, including a rooftop deck and fitness center. The entire building is specifically designed to maximize waterfront views and reinforces the view corridors and pedestrian access points to the waterfront.

The development team hopes to leverage the synergies between this key project on the waterfront, the Port of Bremerton, the Bremerton Marina, and the Kitsap Conference Center to increase economic activity in the downtown core, while fulfilling the unmet need for local residents. Combined with the new ferry option to downtown Seattle, Bremerton will see an increase in the number of tourists already visiting the Pacific Northwest to embrace Kitsap County as a gateway to the Olympic Peninsula.
