Plans have been brewing for three-odd years in Bremerton for an apartment project dubbed Evergreen Pointe. It takes its name from the saltwater-facing Evergreen Rotary Park opposite its vacant site at 631 Sheldon Blvd. That’s about a mile north of the downtown ferry terminal.
Sound West Group and architect Rice Fergus Miller recently filed their building permit application for the six-story 123-unit project, which has passed through design review. Compass Construction is still listed as the builder.
The public comment period ends Sept. 21, and the city issued a mitigated SEPA determination of non-significance for the project last fall. The old project timeline was to wrap in the third quarter of next year; that’s slipped a bit, so 2025 now appears more likely. There’s no sign yet of a construction loan.
Sound West lists the project, located within a federally tax-favored Opportunity Zone, with a $57 million value. It also includes two levels of structured parking, with 125 stalls. The garage entry will be on Sheldon, and about 4,000 square feet of commercial or restaurant space will also face that street and the 11-acre park. (There’s no sign yet of a broker for that.)
Terraces on the second and top floors, plus some small balconies and a roof deck, will also look north to the park and Port Washington Narrows, which leads to Dyes Inlet.
